Variable Stars Section

This model of the variable star Algol explains
the variable light output we detect from our vantage on earth. Visible with an unaided eye,
Algol periodically fades and then brightens in the course of several hours. Here, the fainter, red star blocks the
light from the brighter, blue star. Studies indicate that there is a stream of material connecting these stars.
