Close-up of the Bill Albrecht Observatory
Albrecht Observatory
The Albrecht observatory houses a 10 inch F6 Newtonian on a German equatorial mount located in a roll-off roof. The scope is equipped with clock drive. The tube itself is mounted on precision ring bearings for convenient eyepiece location.
This observatory is named for Bill and Anne Albrecht. Bill is a founder member who was active in the construction and maintenance of the observatory for 40 years as well as an active observer of variable stars, lunar occultations, and total solar eclipses.
Anne served as Treasurer of the MAS for many years.
